Lion & Lamb Farnham

Lion & Lamb Yard

Farnham, Surrey

A carefully detailed 120,000 sq ft retail development at the heart of Farnham’s Conservation Area: Incorporating refurbished Listed buildings and new build elements to provide a new street of shops and restaurants, anchored by a Waitrose supermarket.

Scheme Overview

Lion & Lamb courtyard was a 16th Century coaching inn approached through an historic listed Tudor archway leading to a dilapidated warehouse bordered by secondary shops on one side and a printing works on the other. L+S+H Architects carefully designed new link buildings to provide a cohesive period shopping and dining street.
Great care and meticulous attention to detail reflect the craftsmanship associated with the buildings of the area, from the original iron-stone and granite setts cart track to the choice of traditional local materials - brick, tiles, slates and stone producing a richness of colour and texture.

L+S+H has added various small phases and additions to our original scheme in recent years. The scheme has won numerous awards and is illustrated in HRH Prince Charles book, 'Vision of Britain'.
